Start with stablecoin flows
Stablecoin supply can indicate potential purchasing capacity, but it does not prove that capital is moving into spot markets. Compare supply changes with exchange balances, transfer activity and broader risk conditions. Stablecoins may also be held for settlement or collateral.
Measure market depth
Trading volume does not show how far price may move when a market order arrives. Review bid and ask depth, spreads during volatile hours and venue concentration. Thin order books can amplify rallies and sell-offs, especially in smaller tokens.
Read derivatives carefully
Funding rates, open interest and liquidations reveal crowded leverage. Rising price with rapidly growing open interest and expensive funding can be fragile. Falling price with declining open interest may mean leverage is clearing, but it does not confirm a bottom.
Write bull, base and bear scenarios
For each scenario, list the conditions needed and the evidence that would invalidate it. Timestamp the data, state assumptions and avoid treating correlation as causation. No indicator can guarantee the next market move.
